Coffee vs modern liquid stimulants
These days people are always on the go. People are busier than ever, often taking two jobs, juggling careers and children - sometimes we all need something to keep us going. Many young people these days go for an energy drink, whereas many of us older types prefer to rely on the old fashioned crutches that have been serving people for years and years - Coffee and the good old british cup of tea!
The facts show that most energy drinks have far higher levels of caffeine than our traditional brews, and from that you would draw the natural conclusion that these drinks are the best thing to turn to when we are tired. However, there is also scientific evidence to suggest that only a certain amount of caffeine raises ands stimulates our senses, and too much caffeine can obviously have an adverse effect and people often complain of an irritating buzzing feeling or feeling ‘wired’. The other great advantage to the more traditional solutions is that you can choose your strength! If I make myself a cup of coffee, I know exactly how strong it’s going to be, because I made it!
The young kids can take their high powered energy drinks - me, I know too much caffeine is not good for me, and a good old fashioned coffee will keep me going anyway, so I recommend that the next time you’re passing a Vending Machine grab the coffee, not the energy drink!
